| Job Description | Independently or working with a team, designs, develops, improves, fabricates and validates test platforms and processes. Includes creating/changing test software/hardware writing test procedures and creating/maintaining process documentation. Provides support and training for test related activities for Production, Test Support and Design. 1. Performs design, development, improvement and/or support of test platforms including but not limited to: Selection of test equipment based on, quality, cost, measurement capability, uncertainty and accuracy. Performing test coverage and test requirement analysis. Creating/modifying test software. Documenting test platforms including schematics, manuals and validation requirement/results. 2. Conducts root cause investigation into yield and quality issues in both Production and New Product Development. 3. Documents process, yield improvement plans, including cost benefits analysis. 4. Creates/maintains test procedures to support other Test Engineering, Production and/or Design efforts. 5. Identifies and implements product cost reductions based on evaluation of yield, testability and quality data. 6. Defines processes to collect and evaluates data in order to recommend/propose test process improvements. 7. Creates detailed specifications for test platform hardware and/or software from general product test requirements including specifying calibration requirements. 8. Creates validation requirements and performs validation of test platforms in a Production or Design environment. 9. Evaluates and proposes processes improvements based on emerging technologies and/or industry developments. 10. Coordinates other Test Engineers to perform Design for Testability analysis of new products. 11. Performs and provides training and/or mentoring on routine test methods, activities and practices for other Test and Design Engineers. |
