Job Description Cal-Bay Systems has a rare opportunity for the right candidate to join our management team at a senior level and at a critical phase of our growth as a company.

The SOCA PM will manage system delivery projects using resources primarily based in Southern California area but also utilizing remote software development centers and hardware engineers from the headquarters office in Northern California. The SOCA PM reports to the SOCA Regional Manager in the Irvine office.
Qualifications
• Technical/Project Management:
o Directly manage delivery projects, meeting schedule, budget goals and customer satisfaction goals.
o Supervise or if needed perform hands-on engineering tasks requiring knowledge of LabVIEW, instrumentation, communication protocols commonly used in automated test systems, test software architectures and software engineering.
o Organize and plan the project work, ensuring documentation and other deliverables are completed.
o Track and manage project risks, and protect Cal-Bay from taking on risk it is not being paid to take on.
o Lead the project team, ensuring effective communication, buy-in and task delegation to team members.
o Drive re-use and use of platforms in the project designs, generate reusable IP and expand platforms.
o Adhere to and contribute to improvement of project management and other processes, including rigorous goal setting and closure review for larger projects.

• Business Development/Client Relations:
o Identify opportunities to increase the scope of services and hardware we sell to project clients.
o Expand contacts and new business opportunities within client accounts to grow business
in collaboration with business development people.
o Support business development people with evaluation and estimation of the effort required to deliver the planned scope of work for new project proposals. Identify risk factors and scope ambiguity issues that need to be managed.
Skills Required/Preferred
The successful candidate will have significant experience in leading highly skilled technical personnel. 4 year engineering degree and at least 8 years relevant experience required. Experience within small and growing companies as well as in larger companies with well developed processes is preferred. Experience in a professional services or project oriented firm with regular client interaction or other relevant experience to develop consulting skills is also preferred. Significant project management experience is a must. Experience developing automated test systems either as an engineer or manager is a must.

o Ability to calmly and professionally handle difficult client behavior and conflicts while looking out for both Cal-Bay and client’s interests. Clients should enjoy the experience of working with our SPE.
o Regularly report status and plans to client management and Cal-Bay management.
• Self starter, able to organize and estimate development tasks, and track to schedules.
